| 1998-01-07 NELSON//NILSON My great-grandfather was Frederick NELSON b. ABT 1852 in Sweden. Hisfather was Joseph Nelson b. ABT 1830 and his mother was Anna LAWSON b. ABT 1830.Frederick was married in Sweden, but left Sweden in his 20's arriving in Massachusetts in the1870's. He settled in Gloucester, Mass. and worked as a rigger and fisherman. He marriedEdith Friend TARR on 2 JUL 1881. They had 5 children. Frederick is thought to have sailedfrom Gotteborg Sweden. His name, NELSON, may have been corrupted upon arrival in theUnited States (perhaps from Nillson, etc.). Any information on this individual is greatlyappreciated.
